Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
The rule
Use fishbowl only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm other people, other networks, or the machines of bowl sellers. This applies to buyers, to what fish sellers' agents do, and to bowl sellers.
Not allowed
- Sending spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or running open mail relays or open proxies.
- Attacking or probing systems you are not allowed to test: denial-of-service, scanning third-party networks, brute-forcing logins, exploiting vulnerabilities.
- Cryptocurrency mining.
- Malware, phishing, botnet control servers, or hosting stolen credentials or data.
- Content that is illegal where it is hosted or where it is aimed, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities.
- Infringing copyright or other intellectual property, including running pirated software or file-sharing of protected works.
- Trying to break out of a bowl, reach the host machine or other bowls, or get around metering and limits.
- For fish sellers: setup scripts that do anything not described in the listing, collect the buyer's data, or open access for anyone but the buyer.
- For bowl sellers: watching, copying or changing what buyers run in your bowls.
What we do
We may stop, suspend or delete a bowl, a listing or an account that breaks this policy. When other people are at risk we act first and tell you afterwards. Credit spent on abusive use is not refunded.
